FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Here’s a selection of commonly-asked questions about dining and staying at Foragers.

Can I book in for lunch?

Foragers Field Kitchen dining room is currently only open on selected evenings, with our seasonal set menus offered on scheduled dates throughout the year.

Please check our events calendar for upcoming events.

How Does Breakfast Work?

A complimentary continental breakfast basket is included as part of your accommodation for one morning of your stay. This includes:

  • a loaf of crusty bread,
  • butter and housemade Jam
  • a bottle of Local Sparkling Apple Juice per person
  • 1 litre of Bannister Downs Farm Fresh Milk
  • freshly-ground Fiori Coffee

In addition, you can order a Full Breakfast Hamper, which offers provisions for a generous cooked breakfast that you prepare yourself in your own chalet, studio or farmhouse using the well-appointed kitchens. For two people this includes:

  • Four fresh farm eggs
  • 100g Speck (German-style Bacon)
  • one small loaf of crusty bread,
  • butter and housemade Jam
  • 250 g housemade Muesli
  • 1 small tub of yoghurt
  • 1 litre of Bannister Downs Farm Fresh Milk
  • two small bottles Local Sparkling Apple Juice
  • 50g freshly-ground Fiori Coffee, and
  • fresh or poached Seasonal Fruit.

Extra amounts of the above are provided when ordered for more than two people.

Many guests choose to have the Full Breakfast Hamper for their first morning with the Complimentary Continental Basket for the second morning as a ‘top up’.

Breakfast hampers are only available to guests staying at Foragers – please book your breakfast hampers when making your accommodation booking.

HOW DO FOOD ALLERGIES AND DIETARY RESTRICTIONS WORK WITH YOUR SET MENU?

Please let us know about any food allergies at the time of making your booking.  We will endeavor to accommodate these as much as possible at our set menu dinners.

We regret that we are unable to cater for food allergies and preferences in our cooking classes.

CAN I BRING MY OWN WINE?

Yes, we are BYO. You may bring your own wine to our dining events and we encourage you to use the opportunity to seek out a special bottle from one of our renowned local vineyards

I’D LOVE TO ORGANISE FOR A GROUP TO ATTEND A COOKING CLASS – CAN WE HAVE THE CLASS TO OURSELVES?

Foragers Field Kitchen and Cooking School is delighted to accommodate private groups for corporate events, special celebrations or simply a unique weekend getaway for a group of friends.  Please see our functions page for more information.

DO YOU HAVE A CHILDREN’S MENU?

All of our dining events have a set menu for all guests. As the Foragers Field Kitchen dining room is small and arranged in four long tables, and menus are set and fixed price with everyone served at the same time, our dinners are not ideal for young children. A babysitting service is available for chalet guests staying at Foragers – please enquire at the time of making your booking

ARE YOU PET FRIENDLY?

We understand you want to bring your furred or feathered loved one with but we’re sorry, we can’t accept any pets.

I’D LIKE TO MAKE A RESERVATION FOR DINNER IN SEVERAL MONTHS – CAN I VIEW THE MENU YET?

Due to our philosophy of only using the freshest seasonal produce, we only create our menus at the start of the week preceding each dining event, based on what is best and fresh that week. This is to make the most of seasonal produce available locally and from our kitchen garden, at its peak.  Please see this week’s menu.

Gift Vouchers are available for any combination of dining, event, accommodation or monetary value.
