Western Australia’s Magnificent Southwest
The Southern Forests region is in the lower south-west of Western Australia, about 300km from Perth. The magnificent karri forest, with trees among the tallest in the world, give our region its name.
Lush pastures, orchards, vineyards and natural waterways throughout the Southern Forests make this region a remarkably productive place for high quality food. Marron, trout, avocados and cool climate wines, from Pemberton; cherries, apples and truffles from Manjimup; cream and milk from Northcliffe and beef from Walpole are just some of the produce that the Southern Forests is famous for.
Apart from enjoying the delicious food cultivated in our region, which you can do in our dining room, the Southern Forests is rich in tourism opportunities. From exploring the glorious forests, enjoying activities including canoeing, fishing and bushwalking, and seeing the beauty of local craftwork – the Southern Forests and surrounds has so much to offer visitors.
